In December, 2019, I was privileged to document a love story of one of my best friends since campus days at Laikipia University. When Emmanuel told me about his plans to make it official to the love of his life, I was excited and vowed(silently) to help and make the special day a success.
Well, we catch up with Both Emmanuel Kibet Chirchir & Lucy Njeri Kimani who were kind enough to share their love story with us.
Q.How did you meet ?
We first met way back in 2013 in Campus. During our normal weekly Christian Union prayer sessions, If I can recall well, the session was in one of the school halls known as D1. One of us suggested we visit first year students who had missed the session and it happened that Lucy was one of them. The journey began…
Q. How was your dating experience?
Our official date began in Aug 2015, at a simple restaurant in Eldoret. We can say it was somehow hard to meet regularly because of distance and family restrictions.
Q.What do you love about each other?
Emmanuel; I love my wife, Lucy, because of her humility, kindness, decency and above all is her love for God/God’s work.
Lucy; I love my husband, Emmanuel because of His commitment in what he does, Love and fear of God.
Q.How was the proposal/ Koito? What made it memorable?
We didn’t have a formal or planned proposal since we decided to get married midway to our courtship/dating. The most memorable part of our Koito was when we received blessings from our parents.
Q.How was your wedding planning process?Did you hire a wedding planner? Any lessons learnt/regrets?
Our wedding planning process, we can say it was smooth. The interesting part is that the whole wedding was planned by our friends from the church, college and colleagues who fully committed themselves.
Q.What advice do you have for couples planning their wedding?
Plan simple and ensure you that you enter into documented agreement with suppliers. Focus on the key and important items i.e. Food, deco, reception & couple attire. Above all remember to Trust God and worry less.
From LETS TAKE PICS ,All the best in your marriage and thank you for choosing us to document your special day.
